Guerrilla Games has released a major new update for Horizon Forbidden West, version 1.17, bringing a wave of quality-of-life improvements, performance fixes, and new accessibility options. Here's everything included in the latest patch.
Performance Improvements
The PS5 version of the game now offers an enhanced "Quality" graphics mode that leverages the console's hardware more effectively, targeting smoother frame delivery at 4K resolution. The "Performance" mode has been fine-tuned to more consistently hit the 60fps target, particularly in the Bulwark region which experienced occasional drops previously.
New Accessibility Options
- High Contrast UI mode for players with visual impairments
- Adjustable subtitle font sizes (Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large)
- New controller button remapping presets
- Hold vs. Toggle option for all contextual interactions
Guerrilla is committed to making Horizon Forbidden West as accessible as possible for all players. This update reflects that mission. — Guerrilla Games Dev Blog
